On this Friday, I have to share a breakthrough I had with one of my students. We had definitely had our ups and downs, and I just wasn't getting through to him on a personal level as I had with the other students.
Well one afternoon as my students were eating their snack, I jokingly told him "ooh those are my favorite fruit snacks, can I have one?" I really wasn't intending on taking one from him, but he said sure and handed one to me. Well the next day, what do I find? Another one on my desk! (It was from a different bag as this one was strawberry and the one the day before was cherry!) Such a small gesture meant so much to me. Kids do the darnedest/sweetest things. As we wrap up this work week, I thought you could use an uplifting story! :)
Happy Friday!
Colleen
You are making connections! That is so sweet and gratifying- makes us remember why we are doing this. :)
